Monday - chest and shoulders
I started using creatine last Thursday, at first I didn’t think that it was having any effect, as I’d felt exactly the same during my workouts since I’d started using it. Today was the first day that I noticed any difference. I just seem to be able to workout for longer [...]

As such I’m going to be doing more fitness work, still do the weights, but trim down [...]

Saturday - cardio and abs
Run
Just a quick 25 minutes on the treadmill today, bit of interval training but wasn’t breathing very well. How Much Protein Should I Eat To Gain Muscle

When I first got into weight training I didn’t really understand about nutrition and how much of an impact it has on the gains that can be made from consistent training. I quickly learned from reading around that protein is the key ingredient to good recovery, and therefore muscle development following weight training.
There is a [...]

Training Journal: Friday 23rd January 2009

Friday - legs and triceps
I have been reading various articles on training methods and come to the conclusion that I might be trying to do too many sets in my workouts. This workout, I decided I would do less sets, but try and up the intensity by doing “step down” sets, where you hit failure at [...]

Training Diary: Thursday 22nd January 2009

Thursday - cardio and abs
I went for a run in the rain and wind today, and after having a couple of beers last night, I really didn’t feel in great shape as I was running. I managed a three mile run in about thirty minutes, but didn’t have time to do any ab work as I [...]
