Training Journal: Friday 16th January 2009
Friday should have been a legs and triceps day, but my weight training is all a day behind this week due to missing my Wednesday morning workout. Instead, today was a cardio day, and as it was nice weather and I was working from home this morning, I went for a run down the lanes. I have a nice three mile “there and back” route which is mostly flat, nothing too challenging, but just good for getting the heart pumping and the lungs working.
I always run with my mp3 player, listening to some tunes. This morning it was a medley of Offspring songs, a mix of the best tunes from Americana, Ixnay on the Hombre, Conspiracy of One and Splinter. Years ago, I read that listening to music while doing exercise has been scientifically proven to improve your performance, so I always listen to music when I’m running or working out down the gym.
