How To Lose Weight Eating Chocolate
Hang on, before you all run a mile shouting:
“Not possible, don’t listen to this idiot!”
Just hear me out, people lose weight on a variety of different diets - there is no reason why they can’t lose weight whilst enjoying their favourite treats – in this case chocolate!
Now, there is a caveat to all of this – you can’t just stuff yourself with chocolate and expect to lose weight – you will have to watch what you eat, calorie count if you like, but far better to be calorie counting bars of chocolate than cabbage soup or chicken salads like most other boring diets, am I right?
Here’s what you do:
Breakfast: Take a chocolate flavoured protein shake (30 grams) and some Scottish oats (40 grams) for breakfast, washed down with a glass of fresh orange (2 portions of fruit) – calories, about 300, protein, 25 grams
Mid morning snack: Eat half a chocolate bar, usually there are about 300 calories in a bar of chocolate (Snickers or Mars for example), so if you eat half mid-morning, that’s 150 calories.
Lunch: Eat a chicken or a tuna mayo sandwich (use light mayo and go easy), on wholemeal bread. Make sure you eat no more than 100 grams of bread, and make sure it’s wholemeal! If you eat 100 grams of chicken or tuna in your sandwich, you will get about 25 grams of protein and 500 calories for the sandwich in total. If you can add some lettuce and cucumber to the sandwich even better. Also, try and eat a piece of fruit as well, this will add another 100 calories to the total, giving a lunch total of 600 calories and 25 grams of protein.
Mid afternoon snack: Eat the other half of the chocolate bar from mid-morning, that’s 150 calories.
Dinner: Another chocolate flavoured protein shake and an apple (or any other piece of fruit) for dinner – calories, roughly 200 and 25 grams of protein.
Total calories for the day = 1,400
Total protein for the day = 75 grams
Total fruit and vegetables = 5 (3 pieces of fruit, 1 portion of salad, 1 glass of fresh orange)
All in all a die that will allow you to eat chocolate and lose weight, as you can see there is a bit of calorie counting in the diet, but if you follow this diet you will weight, so why not try it?

Interesting post!
But one thing you have failed to mention is the amount of fat calories and the proportion of saturated fat. Sure, a bar of chocolate contains 300 calories but it can contain up to 40% of the daily value of saturated fat!
When trying to lose weight, it’s not just the total calories that matter but also the composition, especially the fat calories.
While your diet may work for chocolate addicts, it won’t help lose weight for someone who tends to be satisfied with a bar of chocolate per week instead of daily!!

Of course it will work for anyone, it’s a numbers game, there is not enough calories to live off in the diet, but there is enough protein to maintain the existing muscle, so the body will metabolise the fat.

Xocai chocolate is loaded with anitoxidants using cold-pressed raw cocoa, acai berries and blueberries. One nugget or pwoer square before a meal helps to taked the edge off of cravings and that starving feeling so you have maximum will power as you sit down to your meal. It is nutritionally rich and there has been much in the news lately about the ability of acai to help you lose weight.

I think weight loss is all about three things - attitude, diet and exercise. From my experience, reducing carb intake and doing aerobic exercises are keys to successful weight loss.

I agree Tim, I think the biggest factor in whether someone will be successful is the motivation, if the motivation isn’t right it’s too easy to stray off course and fall back into old (bad) habits.

It’s pretty awesome having nutrition as my life. I always tell people when they ask me what kind of supplements to take. Start with the basics and get some whey protein as a body building supplement then if you want, try an EFA stack for weight loss. As always throw in a multivitamin.
