Thursday - HIIT and abdominals
Just a quick session of cardiovascular traininig followed by some abs work today. For the cardio, I did a 25 minute session of high intensity interval training, this consisted of:
- 5 minutes at 9.5kmh
- 30 seconds at 15kmh
- 1:30 at 9.5kmh
- Repeated for 8 intervals in total
- Last interval did 1 minute at 15kmh
- Finished wtih three minutes at 9.5kmh
Pretty hard going towards the end, had trouble breathing through my nose and generally felt a bit rubbish. Think this may have had something to do with having a couple of beers and a fairly late night.
Abs
- 2 sets of leg raises, laid on a bench with my bum hanging over the edge for 20 reps
- 2 sets of crunches, using the gym’s crunch machine, 75kg for 20 reps each set
- 1 set of planks for 45 seconds
- 2 sets of torso twists, using the cable machine with 6.25kg for 15 reps each
By the end of my ab workout I was pretty much done, felt like I’d had a good run and worked my abs, so can’t complain. Think in future I need to steer clear of Stella Artois though…
