Legs Workout: Thursday 2nd April 2009
My groin is still hurting at the moment, so I decided to take it easy on the legs today. I went for a fifteen minute run o the treadmill, just 9kmh, even then I could feel my groin twinging…
After my run, I moved onto the leg press machine, and decided I would do higher reps and lower weight to give my groin a bit of a rest.
- 120kg x 20 reps
- 120kg x 20 reps
- 120kg x 20 reps
Next exercise was the hamstring curls, again, I decided to lower the wieght and go for much slower reps, more heavy duty style than I would normally. For this exercise, I spent four seconds on the positive, 2 seconds on the static then four seconds on the negative.
- 45kg x 8 reps
- 45kg for 1 minute (I didn’t count the reps)
- 45kg for 50 seconds
After hamstring curls, I finished off my legs with some quad extensions. Again, like hamstring curls, I decided to go for lower weight, and slower reps, spending 10 seconds on each rep.
- 52.5kg x 9 reps
- 52.5kg x 8 reps
- 52.5kg x 8 reps
That was it for my legs workout, I finished off in the gym by doing some abdominal exercises, just a set of planks and a set of crunches.
