Saturday Afternoon Workout
Went to the gym this afternoon to do some interval training followed by some abdominal exercises. This is largely because I feel guilty about not doing abs during the week, and also because I’d had a few pints the night before playing poker and wanted to work off the extra calories!
I started off by going on the treadmill for 25 minutes and doing a four minute warmup, followed by ten minutes of speed intervals, fast 12.5kmh, rest 9.5kmh, then I did 10 minutes of hill intervals, where I put the incline up to 5% for a minute followed by flat for a minute.
After doing my intervals, I did my ab workout, which consisted of 2 sets of planks each for 60 seconds, two sets of 15 crunches and two sets of 10 leg raises. I have to be honest, I have noticed that my abs are a very weak area of my body at the moment and I really need to prioritise them over the coming weeks.
Overall a nice little saturday afternoon workout that only took about 40 minutes and relieved the guilt that had built up from having a few pints the previous evening.

I think you should add some in and outs and some bicycles to the mix for some better results. Just my two cents on ab workouts…

I would rather add in the cross trainer then extra bicycle the bicycle doen’t really work your abs so much and is more of a fitness thing the cross trainer is also more for fitness but you will burn more calories using the cross trainer than bicyle.

Ab workouts don’t necessarily have to be driven by guilt! There are several ways to spice up your routine and make it fun. You can always try belly dancing to tone those abdominal muscles.
