Protein Powder
Protein powder has been around for a good few years, made popular by body builders who wanted to add lean muscle mass by not injesting large amounts of fat and carbohydrates with their protein intake. The vast majority of protein powder is designed to be 70% or more protein, with very little fat or carbohydrate added. In some cases the protein content is higher, as much as 80%.
There are many different kinds of protein powder available today as well as a multitude of flavours. The main difference in the different kinds of protein powder is the substance that the protein is derived from. The most common forms of protein powders are:
