Cable Torso Twists
You will need a cable machine to perform this exercise, if your gym doesn’t have one then try performing sit ups, but twist your torso, so that your right elbow comes up to your left knee and vice versa on the other side.
The cable machine should be to your side. Stand with your feet apart, grab the cable grip with both hands. Tuck your elbows into your hips, holding the cable grip out in front of your so that your forearms and stomach form a triangle.
Twist at the waist, but don’t twist your hips, so that you pull the weight up. You should be able to feel the exercise working the obliques, down the flanks of your abdominals. You should be able to perform 15 reps of this exercise for one set. Don’t worry about going too heavy on this exercise, it’s all about technique and feeling the exercise working the right muscles. It’s very easy to twist at the hips and lift heavier weights, but this won’t work your obliques as much and is therefore pointless.
