Tricep exercises

The triceps are the muscle that sits on the underside of the arm, doing the opposite of the biceps, in that they extend the arm at the elbow rather than contract as the biceps do. They are called the triceps brachii, but mos people refer to them as the triceps, getting their name from the fact that they are in fact three small muscles that form a group of muscles responsible for extending the arm at the elbow.

There are a number of exercises that can be done to work the triceps, both in the form of isolation exercises, such as cable push downs, and compound movements, such as dips. The triceps get a lot of secondary work when doing exercises such as bench press, push ups and shoulder press.
